The Rule Making process is the opportunity for you to show support for the Profession of Dental Hygiene, specifically for the Independent Dental Hygienists in the state of Maine who are doing their very best to bring safe, affordable dental care to all Mainers.

7/14/15 BELOW IS A NOTE FROM THE MBDE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR:

Thank you for your email and yes, as soon as the Board proposes the draft rule, then we’ll schedule the matter for a public hearing. You’ll be notified once the proposed rule is drafted and will also be notified of the date, time and location of the hearing. I anticipate a late summer/early fall implementation date. You should know that we are also working with Commissioner Anne Head, Dept. of Professional and Financial Regulation, on conducting a review of the dental board statute to streamline the licensing provisions and scopes of practice – so if any further statutory changes need to be made prior to rulemaking that it can be identified now.
